Islam is the religion of pace of love and of controlling your life to the best as the religion before him ...
But we belive as a Muslim that  all religions before us are truth but it have some changes and for that Allah has sent the prophet muhammad to all humanity to bring us from the darkness into the light and let us know that there is no God worthy to worship  except Allah and muhammad is the messenger of Allah 
We do belive in the all prophets before muhammad sallah lahu alayhi WA sallam 
Now if you belive in that 
And you belive that Allah is the creator and belive in the messengers and the books and the Quran as the last book from Allah and you belive in the angels and the decree of Allah 
Then congratulations 
You are a Muslim 
You need to say shahada  
Ashhadu an la ilaha illà lah WA ashadu anna muhammadan rassulallah
